My whole life revolves around dancing to, listening to, and sharing music & underground culture. I have been front and centre (well, technically front-left) in the Toronto rave scene since 1999, and been catalogueing both mp3s and Toronto Rave flyers since then. With the advent of Spotify when I immediately began neurotically been building & sharing playlists since 2015.

Daka.ninja/FM Dj Mixes
Say what you want about Spotify (and I know I have my opinions – UNIONIZE & NATIONALIZE SPOTIFY!) but straight up, we have to pick our battles. I’m just far too committed at this point: to the point where in 2022 I was ranked in the Top 5% of Spotify listeners in Canada… And then by 2023 & 24 I was in the top 1% of all Spotify listeners globally.
That said, I am freakin busy and it sucks. So while it might be OMG WTF BLASPHEMOUS to the Dj culture I have long been a part of – IDGAFimmadowhatiwant. And since I have already been curating my top secret playlists for ages (outlined below) the recent addition of Spotify mixes has allowed me to finally dabble in mixing & perfecting the playlists I already have, rather than all the extra steps my busy schedule cannot accomodate for.
So I’m a fan of Spotify mixes as this helps me iron out the kinks of my track selections in realtime, and expose new vibes to my different communities.
